Renting a photo booth made easy: 8 points to clarify before booking. From choosing the product to the event day workflow.
Renting a Photo Booth: The Complete Checklist
From choosing the right product to the layout and the event day workflow: this checklist covers every point that should be clarified before booking a photo booth.
1. Choose the Right Product
The first step: which product suits the event? The classic [Photo Booth](/digitale-fotobox) works for virtually any occasion, offering instant prints, a video display and compact setup. The [Photo Mirror](/produkte/fotospiegel) provides a more elegant experience with touch animations and is particularly popular for [weddings](/fotobox-mieten/hochzeit) and upscale celebrations.
2. Check Space Requirements and Venue
The [360° Video Booth](/videobox-mieten) focuses on cinematic slow-motion videos and is ideal for events where the wow factor matters. The [Drone Photo Booth](/drohnenfotobox-mieten) is the most exclusive product and only available from SnapShotBox in Austria. An overview of all products is at [Photo Booth Rental](/fotobox-mieten).
3. Secure Your Date Early
Each SnapShotBox product has different space requirements. The Photo Booth and Photo Mirror need approximately 2 × 2 m of floor space plus guest area. The 360° Video Booth requires around 3 × 3 m for the platform. The Drone Photo Booth needs at least 3 × 3 m and 2 m ceiling height.
4. Customise the Print Layout
Most venues already have experience with photo booths and can recommend suitable locations. Our team reviews venue requirements in advance, considering lighting conditions, foot traffic and power supply.
5. Select Extras and Additional Services
Popular dates, especially weekends between May and October and around Christmas, tend to fill up quickly. For weddings, booking at least six months in advance is recommended.
6. Plan the Online Gallery and Sharing
A non-binding enquiry secures the preferred date without risk. The reservation only becomes binding upon quote confirmation.
7. Prepare Props and Guestbook
The print layout is the most visible part of every photo booth experience. Choose from single-image layouts, three-photo collages, photo strips and seven other layouts, with more than 500 designs available in total. Names, date, event title and custom graphics are coordinated in advance.
8. Event Day Workflow
Design is included in every package. For [corporate clients](/fotobox-mieten/firmenfeier), there is also the option to place logos, CI colours and branding elements on the hardware.
Beyond the standard package, various extras are available: physical backdrops like flower walls or curtains, additional prop sets, extended branding options and more. An overview of all extras is on the [Extras page](/zusatzleistungen).
Important to know: features like unlimited photo prints, the online gallery, [AI experiences](/ki-fotobox-mieten), the photo frame, props and 24/7 support are already included in the standard SnapShotBox package. With many providers, these features cost extra.
The online gallery with download function is included as standard in every package. The gallery link is typically provided one day before the event and can be shared with all guests.
If the link is needed weeks or months before the event, for example for invitation cards or a corporate event, it can be requested at any time. Guests can receive their photos on-site via QR code, AirDrop or email.
Themed props are standard at SnapShotBox and are automatically compiled. Weddings get elegant sets, birthdays get colourful ones, corporate events get professional variants.
For a photo guestbook, a blank album, pens and adhesive pads next to the photo booth are all it takes. Each session prints two identical photo strips: one for the guests, one for sticking in.
On the event day, the SnapShotBox team handles delivery, setup, technical checks and collection after the event. During the celebration, the photo booth runs independently; an on-site attendant is optional.
For questions or technical matters, remote support is available around the clock. This ensures full focus on the event without worrying about technology. The full process in detail at [How It Works](/so-funktionierts).
Delivery and collection are scheduled around the event location. For [Vienna](/fotobox-mieten-wien) and [St. Pölten](/fotobox-mieten-st-poelten), the respective time slots and availability are listed there.
